Desmoceras
latidorsatum Ammonites Wholesale Lot
Geologic Age: Early Cretaceous, Albian Stage
Fossil Site: Mahajanga Province, Madagascar
Price: Sold
Product Code: W-AM07
This lot contains
35 ammonites from from 40 mm to 50 mm. Includes label for each
ammonite. These very pretty ammonites exhibit iridescence because
nearly all of thier original iridescent shell has been preserved.
The iridescence is a consequence of light passing through the
various layers of aragonite and conchiolin that was deposited
by the living ammonite. The lack of acidity in the depositional
environment allowed them to be preserved in this slendid form.
The colors change with the viewer’s angle. The lot includes
flat, foldups and labels.
