sold This lot
contains 24 specimens of Medium/large cleoniceras sp. Includes
label for each ammonite. These very pretty ammonites exhibit
iridescence because nearly all of thier original iridescent
shell has been preserved. The iridescence is a consequence
of light passing through the various layers of aragonite and
conchiolin that was deposited by the living ammonite. The lack
of acidity in the depositional environment allowed them to
be preserved in this slendid form. The colors change with the
viewer’s angle. The lot includes flat, foldups and labels.
